Colonies of the Future

This poster was created for a fictional sustainability conference called Colonies of the Future, hosted by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. The concept highlights the idea that bees are at the center of our food systems and that sustainable agriculture depends on protecting their colonies. I hand-illustrated every element including the type in Adobe Illustrator and used a modern folk-art style with a medallion-like, symmetrical composition to emphasize harmony in nature. The central bee represents its vital role in pollination, while the surrounding flowers, plants, and produce visualize the wide range of foods that rely on its work. A subtle offset in color was used to add warmth and charm, reinforcing the handcrafted look. The final composition is designed to feel vibrant and rooted in nature, reflecting the conference’s mission to advocate for sustainable agricultural futures.
